Attendance and Enrollment Standards

Attendance

ABA Standard 308(a) requires law schools to “adopt, publish, and adhere to sound academic standards, including those for regular class attendance, good standing, academic integrity, graduation, and dismissal.” Pursuant to Standard 308(a) the College of Law requires regular and punctual class attendance.  No student will be given credit for work done in any course in which he or she has failed to attend at least 80 percent of the scheduled classes.

Disability Accommodations

Loyola strives to create an inclusive environment in all of its programming. Students requiring accommodation should contact the program director to discuss available services in their desired program country.

Vienna

Persons with disabilities are encouraged to attend as both the law school and hotels are accessible, but interested students who require special accommodations should contact program Director Robert A. Garda, Jr. at rgarda@loyno.edu to discuss availability.

Application Process

The Loyola Study Abroad programs employ a rolling admissions policy. Applications are considered in the order of their receipt, and applications showing potential for successful study abroad are accepted promptly, until the program is filled. After 35-40 students have enrolled, a waiting list is used to admit further students depending on program availability. Please note that the Loyola Study Abroad programs are popular and in some years have been closed early due to over-enrollment.
