Law Professor Mitchell Crusto Recognized with Loyola’s Dux Academicus Award

Bidish Sarma will join the law clinic faculty after previously serving as a fellow with the Jesuit Social Research Institute at Loyola University New Orleans. Before coming to Loyola, he was an Assistant District Attorney in the Civil Rights Division of the Orleans Parish District Attorney's office.

Aaron Clark-Rizzio joins the law clinic after leading the Louisiana Center for Children's Rights (LCCR) for nearly a decade. He worked as the organizational leader and supervised both the policy advocacy work and direct representation of young people in Orleans Parish Juvenile Court.

Dead Man Walking Graphic Novel Panel Discussion

Sr. Helen Prejean, author of Dead Man Walking: An Eyewitness Account of the Death Penalty in the United States, will share her insight on the novel and her continued work in criminal justice reform during a free event on November 11 at the Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. 

Her book, originally published in 1993 and now available as a graphic novel, was on the New York Times Best Seller List for 31 weeks, and it has since been adapted into an Oscar-winning movie, a play, and the most performed new opera of the 21st century.
