Bio

Professor Turkington joined the law faculty after practicing at the New Orleans firm of Liskow & Lewis.  Professor Turkington graduated first within the Full Day Division of her class at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, and also served as the Online Editor of the Loyola Law Review and competed on the National Moot Court team.  Professor Turkington earned the highest grade in 18 out of 29 graded courses and was awarded the Louisiana State Bar Association Civil Code Award for graduating with the highest grade-point average in civil law courses.

After graduation, Professor Turkington served as a law clerk for the Honorable Carl J. Barbier of the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Louisiana.  While in practice at Liskow & Lewis, Professor Turkington was recognized as a "Rising Star" by Louisiana Super Lawyers, a "Top Lawyer" by New Orleans Magazine, and "One to Watch" by Best Lawyers

Professor Turkington teaches in the areas of Obligations and other Louisiana Civil Code courses.  Professor Turkington's scholarly interests include the evolution of artificial reproductive technology in civil and common law systems, with a particular focus on surrogacy.  Her next article on this topic is slated for publication in the William & Mary Journal of Race, Gender, and Social Justice.
