LL.M. & J.D./LL.M. Application Procedures

Loyola Law's LL.M. Program is open to J.D. graduates and international lawyers. 

Loyola Law students have the option of completing a joint J.D./LL.M. in seven semesters. Students must apply and be accepted into both programs by the beginning of their last semester in the J.D. program. Scholarships and financial aid are available. 

To apply, please submit the following documents to our J.D./LL.M. application:

  • Statement of interest, and
  • One letter of recommendation, written by a Loyola College of Law faculty member.

Loyola Law students with a cumulative LGPA of 2.8 or higher may have the statement of interest and letter of recommendation requirements waived. Any applicant who has earned a cumulative LGPA below 2.8 (i.e. 2.799 or lower) must complete the application in its entirely. The College of Law reserves the right to request additional information from applicants. At this time, only students enrolled in Loyola Law's J.D. program are eligible to participate in the joint-LLM program. Scholarships and financial aid are available and will be awarded following acceptance.

* 3Ls and 4Ls graduating in May 2024 must apply by May 1, 2024 to be eligible to participate in the joint-degree program. Joint-degree students who will complete their requirements for the J.D. in the spring semester and may sit for a bar examination in summer before returning to complete the LL.M. semester.

To apply, please submit an application, which includes statement of interest, a current résumé, official transcripts from every post-secondary school you have ever attended, and two letters of recommendation. Scholarships and financial aid are available and will be awarded following acceptance, if applicable.
