Bio

Haley Farrell joins the Westerfield Fellowship Program after serving as a staff attorney in the DNA Unit in the Criminal Defense Practice at The Legal Aid Society in Brooklyn, New York, and an adjunct professor at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Haley previously worked for the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender, where she was recognized as the agency's statewide Attorney of the Month for her representation in the Mercer Trial Region. Prior to law school, Haley worked with Jesuit Refugee Service Cambodia and Jesuit Mission Australia on international human rights advocacy. 

Haley received a J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law, where she was a pro bono scholar, and a B.A. in international studies and theology from Boston College. Her teaching and scholarly interests focus on criminal law and legal system reform, drawing on restorative approaches to transformative and transitional justice.
