Brian Leftwich

Mr. Leftwich is a member of Ajubita, Leftwich & Salzer, L.L.C. He received his J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 1977, where he was a member of the Loyola Law Review. He received his LL.M. in taxation from Boston University in 1978. Mr. Leftwich is recognized as a board certified tax specialist and a board certified estate planning and administration specialist by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization.

His practice is focused primarily in commercial law with an emphasis in federal and state income taxation and includes state and federal tax law, corporate and business law, and real estate transactions. He handles a wide variety of commercial transactions, including the merger, acquisition and disposition of regional and national companies. Mr. Leftwich’s practice also includes representing clients before the Internal Revenue Service. He has an extensive estate planning and succession law practice.

Mr. Leftwich is an adjunct professor at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where he has taught courses in tax law for more than 39 years. He has spoken before various business organizations on topics regarding federal income taxation.

He graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University New Orleans with a degree in accounting in 1974. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the New Orleans Bar Association. He was admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Louisiana in 1978 and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in 1981.

Mr. Leftwich has been listed as a Louisiana Super Lawyer from 2008-2013 and has been awarded the highest rating by Martindale Hubbell.
